20th International Furniture Give-Away
Yes!! We’re giving away free USED furniture, household & kitchen items to NEW international students, scholars, and families of all national and religious backgrounds.
Come and choose from a wide variety of gently used items.
Furniture Selection – Aug 20 & 21 (Tue & Wed)
Furniture Delivery – Aug 24 (Sat).
Beds – twin, double, queen, Study desks, chairs, couches, book shelves, dining tables, chest of drawers, side tables, dressers, kitchen/household items, and more.
All new international students have to pre-register for the event online. You will be invited to attend one of two Furniture Selection Days: August 20 (Tue) or August 21 (Wed) at 6pm. On Furniture Selection Day, students will go through a registration process. Then, Guides will help you with the furniture selection process. Typically, a student might be able to choose 2 to 3 furniture items and bag full of household/kitchen items. Plan on being at the event for 1 to 3 hours. Most students will be done much faster. Refreshments & snacks will be provided at the event. There will also be information available about activities and services provided by BISM. All selected furniture items will be delivered to your apartment on Saturday, August 24 between 8am and 12noon. Please be present at your apartment on that day to receive your furniture.
The Furniture Give-Away is offered as a free service by the staff and volunteers of Bloomington International Student Ministries (BISM) and churches in the Bloomington area.
