Thanks for pre-registering to attend the International Furniture Giveaway.A confirmation email with a record of all the information you submitted has been sent to the email address you provided. If you do not receive the confirmation message within a few minutes of signing up, please check your Junk E-mail folder just in case the email got delivered there instead of your inbox. We recommend that you add elan@ifmusa.org to your ‘Approved Sender’ list, within your email reader.

Free transportation will be provided for those who need it. Pickup date, time and location will be emailed to you a few days before the event.
Your specific appointment date & time will be announced closer to the event. Please show up at the appropriate time at your pickup location.
The International Furniture Give-Away event is especially arranged for NEW international students, scholars, and their families. If you are a returning student and need furniture, please contact us after August 24 and we will try our best to secure furniture for you.
Pre-registration is required to attend this event. Encourage your friends to pre-register if they are planning to attend the event.
Please note: All pre-registered students will be given a specific appointment date & time to arrive and will be served according to that appointment time.
Furniture Give-Away Process
- All new international students have to pre-register for the event online.
- You will be invited attend one of two Furniture Selection Days: August 20 (Tue) or August 21 (Wed) at 6pm.
- On the Furniture Selection Day, students will go through a registration process.
- Then, Guides will help you with the furniture selection process. Typically, a student might be able to choose 2 to 3 furniture items and bag full of household/kitchen items.
- Plan on being at the event for 1 to 3 hours. Most students will be done much faster.
- Refreshments & snacks will be provided at the end of the furniture selection process at the Hospitality Room.
Furniture Delivery (Aug 24)
All selected furniture items will be delivered to your apartment on Saturday, August 24 between 8am and 12noon. Please be present at your apartment on that day to receive your furniture. All furniture will be delivered outside your apartment. You are responsible for moving the furniture into your apartment. Please arrange help with your roommates/friends ahead of time. Also, on the day of furniture delivery, face-masks wearing is optional.
It is important that you provide accurate address and phone number so that we can deliver the items in a timely manner. If any of your information changes after you had registered online, please email Elan Rajamani at with the changes.
Directions to Sherwood Oaks Christian Church is below Directions from IU Campus: Go south on Eagleson to Atwater (stop light). Turn left. Go east on Atwater. Turn right onto High Street (south). Go south on High Street. Pass Child’s Elementary School on left. Go ¾ the way around the Roundabout and take a right onto E. Rogers Road. The church is at the top of the hill on the right, 2700 E.
